Seeding for a Builder-Driven Town
Hydroseeding in Spring Hill is mostly about new construction. The Census Bureau has ranked Spring Hill as the fourth fastest-growing city in Tennessee, and it went from 29,036 residents in 2010 to 40,000 in 2018. Growth like that means street after street of new homes, each with a yard that needs grass, and builders who need sediment control from the first day of grading.
Two counties, one city
Spring Hill straddles Maury and Williamson counties. Because the city sits on almost all land, with only about 0.17 percent water, it does not have big lakes to worry about. What it does have is many small drainage paths, ditches and detention areas that collect runoff from new streets and roofs. Those are where we use erosion control blankets and set inlet protection.
The GM plant and its traffic
The former Saturn plant opened in 1990 and is now GM's Spring Hill Manufacturing. Saturn Parkway (State Route 396) and the newer I-65 interchange at June Lake Boulevard, opened in May 2024, have opened more land for building. New road and commercial work produces long cut and fill slopes that hydroseeding and hydromulch can cover quickly.
Builder timelines
Production builders want lots stabilized and seeded on schedule. We work from a lot list, seed as each final grade is accepted, and keep silt fence in place until the grass has rooted. Homeowners who bought a house with a straw-covered or patchy yard can call us to finish the job.

Spring Hill Questions
My builder left a thin layer of straw and seed. Should I redo it?
If grass came up thin or washed into streaks, a hydroseed overseed with mulch can fill it in. We can look and tell you whether the lawn needs patching or a full reseed.
Do you work for production builders in Spring Hill?
Yes. We can seed lots as they are finished and install and maintain silt fence across the community.
What about the detention pond in our neighborhood?
Pond banks need a mulch layer that will hold on a slope, and blankets where water flows in. We seed and stabilize them.
Can you seed in summer for a new home closing?
We can, but summer seedings need consistent watering. In some cases a temporary cover and fall overseed is the better plan.
